Thread: Extend League Time Frame?

  1. #1
i think whats needed rather than bigger divisions is a longer format. as it stands now u have until 18:00 cet on the 28th of ea month to complete your matches. for me that means 12 noon. well im sorry i have a job and other responsibilities that prevent me from playing on the computer all day. i would suggest 2 months to complete all the matches or at the least 6 weeks. its frustrating not to be able to get all the matches in on time or worse miss the cutoff by a couple of hours.

Thank you for your feedback Rarely_Wins. Please allow me to add my perspective on this topic.

At one point, IBA's League play was over a two month period to allow ample time to complete all matches. What we found is that many league players waited until the last days to complete their play (not that any of us wait til the last minute to do anything lol).

The downside to that approach is those league players that schedule their matches at the very beginning of the play period were having to wait an excessive amount of time to begin the next phase of competion. The league members were polled and agreed that a one month period of play would enhance the IBA League.

I do agree that the changes made it even more important for the IBA League participants to be more organized and prompt in scheduling their matches early on. Also, continuing to rely on "matches on the fly" has resulted in unfinished matches at the end of the month. Most have cooperated and some have been left frustrated.

We still have those that wait until the last moment to fit in their matches. While it IBA's preference is to have all participants working together to ensure all matches are completed, I am afraid IBA cannot control human nature.

As a result, IBA's match forfeit procedures are necessary. By continuing to follow IBA's recommended approach to scheduling your matches and provide IBA with documentation for any matches that are not scheduled/played, your experience will be as positive as possible and remain fair to all participants. Trying to find an easier way to participate will leave you frustrated at the end of the month which is definitely not our goal.

Thank you for your continued interest in the IBA League. We do appreciate your feedback. Without that feedback over the years, the IBA League would not stand above other leagues on the internet and be a true, quality competition.
