:( my dear friends..... i really don't understand why the IBA league is so neglected... updating is so seldom done....and some players don't even answer to appointment to play the matches...i would apply a kind of punishment for the ones who don't playtheir matches... for the third month i am down in score because of people not playing... i think that's not right. could you do something about it please? thanks very much for attention !

I have to agree with INTER about the updating of the League tables. This month seems to be particularly bad - no update since 10th March.

I understand that people do this admin work in their own time for no recompense, but I feel, to keep people's interest alive, regular updates are esential to see how they are progressing throught the month.

With regard to players not completing matches - I sympathise totally. If you have e-mailed them and had no response (and you have kep a copy of the e-mail), forward it to admin and request forfeits. This way you will get what you deserve.

I agree that some form of punishment should be administered - after all, people sign up to the league and should make an effort to fulfill they're committment. Maybe you should have to complete a certain % of matches every month (say 80%) before any of your scores count - just an idea. But if you can't find the players to play, this could be difficult.

Try emailing the players, if they don't respond, then claim the win at the end of the month,

I know it's takes the fun out of the league if you don't play, but I?ve found it's only in the lower divisions where no shows are the problem, as you claim the win, you will move up to the higher divisions and then no shows are not a problem,

Also about the updates, the league has grown a lot; I remember when it was only a few divisions, now there are 14! With the massive increase of posts it?s a lot of extra work for Theo. (but it is annoying when it's not been updated)

PS. All have fun in Las Vegas!!!!! I hope you all take plenty of pictures for the website!

IBA league play is alive and kicking, look at all those Div 4s??

Also there is a punishment for not playing matches; you get no points, whereas even if you play and lose you get 1 point, Theo brought in this system (high points win) to stop people "sitting" on a high winning percentage and refusing to play further matches. I think it works very well.

Also, like all IBA activities, the league is updated by folks who also work for a living, they do it in their spare time for the benefit of the rest of us. If they are late sometimes. so be it, im grateful they do it at all.

Thanks Theo and the whole IBA crew.

PS

Forgot to mention thats its also very easy to keep track of how you and every other player in your Div is doing. I know where i'll finish long before Theo's final update each month.

Hello :)

I know that it doesnt look good when the site isnt updated regular.
But I hope you all understand that i cant do an update everytime a match is reported. Even not one a day, it would take too much time, cause all is done by hand.

We are working hard to get it automated, but it will take a little time before that is a reality.

As for March.. Had a nice computer crash and thats why it wasnt updated.

I always try to update it at least 2 or maybe even 3 times a week.

But cant promise it will happen every week..doing my best, but only got 1 computer and 2 hands..lol

You do a great job with the League Updates.

I just sat down & did some maths

14 divisions
12 people in Div 1
11 people in most (if not all divisions)
If everyone played every match that's about 55 reports per division

Ughhh I have a headache thinking about it.

Thank you Theo for all your work on it. :thumb:

I agree -- thank you to Theo and his helpers for all you do on the league. You amaze me.

I've helped with league for a short time in the past and realize how much effort goes into getting everyone assigned, getting the correct email addresses to players so they may connect, posting the wins and then advancing into the next month. Add in all the new league players and .... oh my!

I want to thank ALL involved in league and could someone find me some more personal time so I may play again? hehehe

Best of luck everyone!
